We have tremendous news to share with you!

The Sinhalese Cultural Centre (SCC) has been entered into the Register of Cultural Organisations (RoCO) and as a result has gained the Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR) Status from the Australian Taxation Office, effective from 12th November 2018. This means all the donations made to the SCC Public Fund since this date will be tax deductible. You can find more details through the following links.

This is a true recognition by the Australian Government, the contribution made by the Sinhalese Cultural Forum of NSW and the Sinhalese Cultural Centre to the community in many respects including cultural activities, arts and craft, literacy, language and youth development.

The Sinhalese Cultural Centre has progressed significantly in the last 2+ years and it is evident from what we presented in the last Annual General Meeting on 27th October 2018. (see below)

Annual Report – 2018

We are certainly progressing towards establishing a Cultural Centre for our own community as well as the other communities around us. Gaining the Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR) Status is a big step forward to achieve this very important milestone for our community; current and many generations to come.

Our JanaShakthi program is key to achieve our goal of establishing the Sinhalese Cultural Centre. There are many members of the community who are already proud participants of JanaShakthi. To further enhance the appeal of this JanaShakthi program, from 12th November 2018, all JanaShakthi contributions will be tax deductible.
